On July 23, a seaway-railway multimodal transport freight train carrying 76 TEUs of small commodities, blankets and other products slowly left Yiwu Railway West Station for Yueqing Bay area of Wenzhou Port, marking the successful launch of the “Yiwu-Wenzhou Port” SITC weekly seaway-railway multimodal transport special train partly operated by Yiwu International Land Port Group.

There are about 140,000 TEUs of commodities exported from Yiwu to Southeast Asia through market procurement trade every year. With the rise of cross-border e-commerce trade in Southeast Asia, the market demand for the export of Yiwu’s commodities to Southeast Asia is also increasing.

In order to open the “Yiwu-Wenzhou Port” SITC weekly seaway-railway multimodal transport special train, International Land Port Group and Wenzhou Port Group developed in-depth cooperation to integrate the consolidation shipping business of Yiwu and Wenzhou, establish a new cooperation model of “seaway-railway transport + waterway-waterway transfer” between ports and shipping enterprises, and provide customized export logistics solutions for customers, so as to broaden the channels opened to outside and at the same time promote green and low-carbon development of transportation.
